Greetings Oakland Elementary Families:
It is an honor to write to you as the newly appointed principal of Oakland Elementary School. I am extremely proud and excited to have the opportunity to serve our school community in this new role. I can not imagine a better place to spend my days working with kids and adults to build relationships, and pursue meaningful learning.
I have been part of the Royal Oak Schools for over twenty years and have spent the past thirteen years serving as the intervention coordinator at Oakland Elementary. I am proud of all that we have accomplished and look forward to the years that come. As the Principal of Oakland Elementary, I am dedicated to furthering our work to build a supportive and inclusive learning community that meets the needs of all students, values and celebrates their unique strengths, empowers them to grow socially and academically, and guides them in building a bright future for themselves.
Aside from my life’s work as an educator, I am a deeply devoted father and husband. My wife is a great mom and talented science teacher. Our son, Brennan, is a Junior at Grand Valley studying physiology with hopes to be a Physical Therapist some day. Our twin daughters, Jenna and Sydney, are seniors in high school, love to play soccer, and love to borrow each other's clothes. As a family we love to have game nights, go camping, and watch movies.
